Michael L. Green Jr., MD
Michael L. Green Jr., MD is the Medical Director of the Dallas Obesity Surgery Specialists' office and Obesity Surgery Specialists in Dallas. Dr. Green attended Prairie View A&M and went to medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine in Peoria and went on to complete a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Providence Hospital - Howard University, something only a select few bariatric surgeons have done.
His passion and dedication to the field of bariatric medicine has served him well as he participates in key leadership positions as a member of the board of directors within the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons organization and American Physician Insurance Exchange. Through his affiliation with Ethicon Endo-Surgery, he continues to strive for excellence by training other surgeons in the field of bariatric surgery.
He has served as Bariatric Medical Director at 2 Texas hospitals and he has great experience with bariatric surgery, performing the laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric Bypass and the Lap-Band. Dr. Green has performed over 1000 bariatric procedures.
Russ Birdwell, MD
Dr. Russ Birdwell grew up in Garland, Texas. He is a 1985 graduate of South Garland High School. After completing his undergraduate studies at Texas A & M University and Texas Christian University, he earned his medical degree at Texas Tech School of Medicine and there completed his general surgery residency training. During his residency training, Dr. Birdwell had the privilege of working with some of the prominent surgeons in the field including Dr. G. Tom Shires and Dr. John Griswold.
He is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society.
Since entering private practice in 2001, Dr. Birdwell joined the medical staff of Baylor Medical Center at Garland, Lake Pointe Medical Center, and Richardson Regional Medical Center. He is trained in a wide range of procedures and has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery.

James Davidson, MD
Dr. Davidson is the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Davidson is board certified in general surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his internship at the Hennepin County General Hospital and a general surgery residency at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Davidson attended a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee.

Wade Barker, M.D.
Dr. Barker began his undergraduate studies at Southwest Texas State University and completed them at Eastern New Mexico University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He also received a Loan Star scholarship and was named an outstanding biology student. Dr. Barker completed his medical education, internship, and general surgery residency at Texas Tech University School of Medicine.
